  Our Peace River study area is situated on a flat to rolling dissected plain, located east of the Rocky Mountains, in northeastern British Columbia and northwestern Alberta (Fig. 1). The Peace River and its tributaries dissect glacial and non-glacial sediments as well as shale and sandstone bedrock (Holland ; Morgan et al. ). The Lookout on th Street captures a breathtaking view of the Peace River. Fort Nelson ( km/ miles from Dawson Creek) was established as a trading post in 29 km/18 miles northwest you will take to BC Highway 77 north (watch for the signs).

Chinaman Lake is a lake located just miles from Hudson's Hope, in Peace River Regional District, in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Fishermen will find a variety of fish including rainbow trout, sucker and dolly varden here.

Lake Peace was a post ice-age glacial lake in what is now the Peace Peace River District basin in northeastern British Columbia and northwestern Alberta. It formed approximat BCE, after the Last Glacial Maximum, as the Laurentide Ice Sheet and Cordilleran Ice Sheet began to melt and retreat, and may have played an important role as an easily navigatable section of an inland.

While technically not quite in the Peace River District, Mackenzie, like its near neighbours in the Peace, is a veritable haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
